A special education centre needs everything to work without barriers: wide routes, ramps, walkways and clear spaces that can be understood at a glance. The building is organised so that moving through it is easy for every pupil.
The envelope is built with large-format panels in a regular grid, a durable, low-maintenance finish that gives the whole a calm, contemporary image.
Inside, a double-height atrium with rooflights brings daylight to the heart of the building and visually connects both floors. The multipurpose hall, with movable partitions, adapts to each activity.
Canopies and porches shelter the entrances from sun and rain, an important detail in a centre where many pupils arrive accompanied or with mobility aids.
