Colour as a tool
The extension treats colour as one more material. Large red, blue, yellow and green planes mark entrances, identify volumes and help the youngest pupils find their way, with no need for signs.
Extension of the nursery and primary school in Alpera, where colour takes centre stage: red, blue, yellow and orange planes that guide, identify each space and make the school a cheerful place. Construction management by Ingeteo.
The extension treats colour as one more material. Large red, blue, yellow and green planes mark entrances, identify volumes and help the youngest pupils find their way, with no need for signs.
The entrance courtyard is organised around a tree and a brick façade pierced by a round window. It is a meeting place for families and pupils, sheltered and full of light.
Inside, colour continues on walls and skirtings: bright classrooms and corridors with finishes that stand up to the daily life of a school.
As construction managers, Ingeteo controlled the quality of materials and finishes and compliance with the design throughout the works, so that the end result matched the project.
