Comprehensive refurbishment of a residential tower: a new façade image, renewed balconies and a roof that now generates energy. Design and site management by Ingeteo.
Edificio Europa is one of the residential towers that shape the city skyline. The intervention updates its envelope without altering its silhouette: the façade regains a clean, consistent image, and the balconies are ordered into white bands that emphasise the building’s verticality.
The balcony fronts are rebuilt with a continuous finish and new joinery. From the street the building reads as new and brighter, and its envelope performs better against heat and cold.
The roof now hosts photovoltaic panels that supply the common areas. High above the rooftops of the city centre, the tower now adds energy instead of only consuming it.
Working on a tower of this height, in the middle of the urban fabric, means planning every phase: access, scaffolding and safety are coordinated so that the works progress with minimal disruption to residents and neighbours.
